The Honeywell Xenon 1902 Wireless Area-Imaging Scanner brings the convenience of Bluetooth technology together with industry-leading scanning capabilities, including versatile area-imaging technology. With a small form factor and ergonomic design, this lightweight, handheld scanner is convenient for extended use without fatigue. Honeywell Xenon 1902 Wireless Area-Imaging Barcode Scanner

This handheld scanner is powered by Adaptus Imaging technology 6.0, along with a sophisticated decoding architecture that combines Adaptus Imaging technology 5.5, Omniplanar’s SwiftDecoder software, and a custom sensor for an extended depth of field, rapid scanning and decoding, and exceptional scanning performance on poor-quality or compromised bar codes.

Applications and Typical Uses

With three focal options (high density, standard range and extended range) for application-specific scanning, the Honeywell Xenon 1902 is a versatile handheld scanner with good durability for many applications.

Its Bluetooth connectivity enables a wide range of motion spanning 33 feet of unrestricted movement from the base. And with up to 14 hours of battery life, this handheld scanner easily supports a full shift without the need to recharge or switch devices to continue scanning.

These features and more make the Honeywell Xenon 1902 Wireless Area-Imaging Scanner suitable for a variety of applications. From warehousing to healthcare, education, retail, and even some industrial and utility applications, the Xenon 1902 offers exceptional scanning capabilities well-suited for applications requiring advanced scanning and sophisticated editing functionality. With an optional, disinfectant-ready housing that resists damage from harsh chemicals, the Xenon 1902 can even be used in chemical processing and similar applications in certain configurations, such as LDAR data collection.

Scanning Capabilities

“From high density linear to 2D bar codes found directly on the screen of a mobile device, Xenon 1902 decodes virtually all bar codes with ease,” according to the manufacturer’s specification sheet for this versatile handheld scanning device.

What really makes the Xenon 1902 stand out, however, is its advanced editing capabilities for its area-imaging function. Cropping, brightening, rotating, sharpening, and more all make it possible to produce high-quality digital images.

The Xenon 1902 operates from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz (ISM Band) adaptive frequency, but its flexible power management options enable users to limit the radio power output to minimize the likelihood of interference with other devices.

Operating Systems and Software

The Honeywell Xenon 1902 is built with TotalFreedom™ 2.0 and Remote MasterMind™ Scanner Management Software. Combined with Bluetooh 2.1 connectivity, this grouping of functional software and utilities provides the Xenon 1902 with exceptional usability.

What’s more, host system modifications are typically not necessary, thanks to the ability to link multiple applications for streamlined processing, decoding, and data formatting. And for IT administrators who prefer managing all scanners within their networks from a single, remote location, the Xenon 1902 is the perfect solution. Up to seven handheld scanning devices may be configured to operate with a single base.

Durability

The Honeywell Xenon 1902 isn’t designed for heavy-duty use in hostile environments, but it does offer ample durability for its target applications. It operates in temperatures ranging from 32°F to 122°F, with ideal storage temperatures between -40°F and 158°F. It functions at its best in 0 to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing, and in tests survives 50 6-foot drops to concrete. There is an optional disinfectant-ready housing designed to better-resist harsh chemicals, making it suitable for chemical processing and similar applications.

It offers a motion tolerance of up to 240 inches per second, dependent on the quality of the bar code, lighting, and other external influencing factors.  Its 1800 mAh Li-ion minimum charges fully in about 4.5 hours and will last up to 14 hours of standard use, with the ability to take up to 50,000 scans on a single charge.
