With good general durability, the Wasp WWS450 can be used in a variety of settings, including those which are scan-intensive. It comes with a wall-mountable or desktop communications base which can support up to seven scanners wirelessly, so it’s perfect for team use and streamlining data collection from multiple devices. It’s backed by a two-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Applications and Typical Uses

Designed for use in scan-intensive, high-volume environments, this fast and efficient handheld scanner is durable enough to withstand daily intensive use and drops from up to 4 feet on concrete. It’s useful for applications such as warehousing and inventory management, shipping and receiving, healthcare, government, education, retail, point-of-sale and similar environments where scanning is an everyday, throughout-the-day occurrence.

Durability

The Wasp WWS450 can withstand repeated drops to concrete from a height of up to four feet, so it can be used in applications such as warehousing where employees are working on concrete floors and scanning from ladders and equipment. It’s not designed for use in highly caustic environments or severe weather, such as rain or sleet, but it is rugged enough to withstand everyday wear and tear in healthcare and light industrial settings.

It offers a two-year warranty against material defects. An optional WaspProtect warranty available is an extended service plan to upgrade for coverage for things like accidental breakage.

Additional Features and Functionality

The Wasp WWS450 offers a number of features that make it a highly functional, efficient option for handheld scanning in a variety of environments. It’s extremely fast, with an image reader capable of capturing 100 scans per minute, and it can store up to 256 scans in buffer memory even if it’s outside its typical 30-foot or 160-foot range, depending on whether it’s connected to a mobile device or its communication base.

Designed for heavy use, the Wasp WWS450 weighs just 6.5 ounces and has an ergonomic design, so it won’t cause strain and discomfort with extended use. Wasp WWS450 2D Handheld Barcode Scanner Base
